This is our apartment in Venice. It is small, but well located next door to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. During the day it is noisy, especially when school and tour groups arrive and leave the Guggenheim, but after 6 pm it is quiet.
Este es nuestro apartamento en Venecia. Es pequeño, pero bien situado al lado de la Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Durante el día es ruidoso, especialmente cuando grupos escolares y de excursión llegan y salen del Guggenheim, pero después de las 6 pm es tranquilo.
We are close to three vaporetto stops (Venice’s water buses), and that helps a great deal in getting around. Surprise guests include mosquitos. We read about these, but weren’t prepared for their enthusiastic presence.
Estamos cerca de tres paradas de vaporetto (autobuses de agua de Venecia), y que ayuda mucho en moverse. Los huéspedes sorpresa incluyen mosquitos. Hemos leído acerca de estos, pero no estabams preparados para su presencia entusiasta.
We love Venice. It is on the water and of the water with the attendant pleasures and hazards that brings. We rode in from the train station in style in a water taxi. 
Shortly after that we had our first gondola ride for a mere €2 each by taking the “traghetto” service–crossing the canal in a gondola. There’s no singing, but it was a real gondola.
Nos encanta Venecia. Está por el agua y hecho del agua, con los placeres y peligros que conlleva. Nos montamos en de la estación de tren en estilo en un taxi de agua. Poco después de eso tuvimos nuestro primer paseo en góndola por sólo € 2 cada uno por tomar el “traghetto” – cruzando el canal en una góndola. No hay gondolier qui canta, pero era una verdadera gondola.
Our visit is even better now that Amanda has arrived.
